Profile: I was born and live in Lima Peru, graduated in 1971 as Industrial and Systems Engineer and had dogs around me and my family the whole life.
I am a breeder owner handler of Afghans Hounds since 1975. Since then I had the privilege to produce more than 80 champions under the Dega Afghans and Chaman & Dega prefixs.
As a breeder owner I have been handled my Afghans all the way to win more than 60 BIS not only in Peru but other countries as well.
The gene pool used in my breeding program, allow me to produce, in six generations of home breed dogs, champions in a dozen of countries along the American continent, from USA to Argentina. Many of these Champions became Group and BIS Winners at national and international level. As breeder owner handler I had the honour to achieve memorable accomplishments. In Peru, we won several times, the Trophies to Best Breeder of the Year and Best Dog of the Year. Internationally, my afghans have been won multiples BOB and Groups at FCI World Shows, a Best Bred By at a National Specialty in USA and Award of Merit at the Garden.
I have been several times member of the Peruvian Kennel Club Board of Directors. I am currently Vicepresident of the KCP, Registry Director and member of the Judges Council and Genealogic Commission .I have been part of the panel at the First Afghan Hound World Congress held in 1995 at San Diego California .
I got my licence to judge Afghan Hounds in 1995 and All Breeds in 2002. Since then I had the honour to judge Specialties and/or All Breed shows in USA, Mexico, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Australia , Puerto Rico, Venezuela , Ecuador, Estonia, New Zealand , Tasmania , Canada and Sweden
Regarding Sight Hounds I had the honour to judge the 2003 Afghan Hound Of Greater Houston Specialty in Illinois USA and the 2004 Australian Afghan Hound National Specialty in Melbourne, the 2006 Tidewater Specialty in Virginia USA, the 2006 Sighthound Specialty in Estonia , The hound Specialty in Auckland and the Hound specialty in Melborune Victoria, the 2008 Swedish Afghan Hound National Specialty, The 2008 Sklokoster Sighthound Specialty
