I have been involved with Afghans since 1970 and have bred six litters and two champions.
My judging career began in 1974 and I had the privilege of awarding CC’s for the first time in 1988 at Bournemouth and at my first Breed Club Championship Show that same year
I have since judged at CC level at Scotland, Three Counties, and Birmingham and the Western Afghan Hound Club.
My interest in the Hound Group also extends to judging Saluki’s, Borzoi’s, Whippets and I am on the B list of these breeds.
I have been Secretary of the WAHC for 20 years, Assistant Secretary of Paignton Championship Show for three years and am a member of The Kennel Club

Clari Cross together with his wife Jill, have owned afghan hounds since the early seventies, successfully showing many Afghans over the years from mainly Moonswift or Carloway lines, most notably Ch Gilari Goldstrike. His first CC appointment was in 1988 and has since judged the breed on six separate occasions, the last appointment being at Crufts in 2004. Having bred just six litters over this span of 35 years, Gilari look forward to the next generation. Clari served on the Committee of the Western Afghan Hound Club for 25 years as a Committee Member, Show Manager, and Vice-Chairman, and is now an Hon.Vice-President of the Club. He is also a Group Steward for Bournemouth Championship Show and is a member of that Committee
